Refugees Welcome banner unfurled for the second match in the row after a community resistance led to MLSE overturning a previous decision to bar “Refugees Welcome” banners from the stadium. We were kindly invited to bring the banner over to RPB Supporters Group Section 112, where the banner received a raucous reception.

Edward Hon-Sing Wong, PhD (he/him) is based in Tkaronto/Toronto. With a background in mental health practice and community organizing, his research centres on social work abolitionism, mutual aid, social work and colonialism, and institutional violence in the mental health field. He is currently a union researcher and was previously a lecturer at York University’s School of Social Work and the chair of the Chinese Canadian National Council Toronto Chapter.
